Planning a Funeral
We take into consideration every detail while planning a fitting tribute to your loved one. We are
dedicated to planning funeral services that reflect individual wishes, needs and preferences. Our
wide selection of services allows you to select the things that are meaningful to your loved one and
affordable to you and your family. These are just a few ways we can help families at the time when they
rely on us the most.
Pre-Arrangements
Pre-planning a funeral provides the chance for a family to make difficult decisions during a time of less
emotional distress. It provides a peace of mind and will allow everyone to know what your wishes would
be. During this time you will be able to visit a potential resting site and have chance to compare options.
We can walk you through these steps as well as provide you with Social Security and Veterans benefit
information. We can also help you organize and arrange all your important personal records. Our staff
will help you plan so that your family can carry out your wishes.
Tradition Service
A tradition funeral service includes a viewing or visitation, a formal funeral service, and the
transportation of the body to the funeral site and cemetery. This service typically involves several hours
of visitation for family and friends at the funeral home, and a service at either the funeral home, your
church or a location of your choice. Following the service family and friends then move to a cemetery of
the family’s choice for a committal service and the burial or entombment.
Graveside Services
The graveside service generally includes several hours of visitation for family and friends at the funeral
home followed by a short committal service at the cemetery which may be limited to immediate family or
open to all.
Memorial Services
A memorial service is conducted without the body present and can vary in ceremony and procedures. It
can be held at the funeral home or at the location of your choice.
Cremation
This method involves reduction of the body to its basic elements through exposure to intense heat. For
individuals preferring cremation, many options are available. All of the other customary funeral services
can be involved if you desire. Butler Funeral Home also offers inexpensive cremation caskets for
use during the visitation period and the funeral service, prior to cremation.
Veterans Benefite
We will help you secure your potential veterans benefits, such as burial flags, government makers,
memorial certificate and a burial plot.
Social Security
We will notify the Social Security Administration of the death. We will explain and help you apply for any
benefits you may be entitled to through Social Security.
Death Certificates
We will help you in obtaining a death certificate which can be important for insurance purposes as well a
host of other issues.
After Care
A loss of a loved one can be especially painful. We understand that the grieving process does not end with
the funeral. We will not only help arrange the funeral, but to also help families cope with the loss of their
loved one.
